Thursday Thought of the Day ~ If You Could Change One Thing About Yourself ~ NaBloPoMo prompt

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

This prompt had me really stuck. You see, I find quotes about things I want to remind myself, but to change myself?

Aren't I perfect the way I am?

I started working on this prompt Tuesday. I know there are things I would change. The difficult question was ~ did you want to hear about my weight or body parts I wish were different? I am sure the answer to that is NO. And truthfully, I really can't change those things, and finally after 4 decades, I am actually pretty OK with how I look now. (except for the grey, and I DO change that every 4-6 weeks)

Tuesday came and went. Didn't write this post.

Wednesday came. Okay NOW I was going to finish this post. After all, this was the prompt for Nov. 6th. Wednesday was Nov. 6th! Right on schedule.

I sat most of the day trying to figure out what I would change.
Oh, I would change the money situation, but wouldn't we all? Wouldn't we all love to have no worries about how to pay the bills, put food on the table, and go out for dinner every now and then? I already talked about that though. So much for that idea.

Then I found the writing space prompt from Tuesday's prompt. THAT I could write about, even though I was a day late. I am always a day late it seems. I even posted Tuesday's blog post a little late, like on Wednesday....shhhhh don't tell anyone.

End of the day, Wednesday, and just posted Tuesday's prompt. Okay, not too bad. But this prompt had not not been touched.

Now, it's Thursday. Still nothing coming to mind. I was still stuck!

Where do I go for inspiration sometimes? Pinterest! Yes, I could look for quotes. I could do a quick post using a good quote.  Of course, two hours later I realized I was not getting anywhere, other than adding to my Pinterest boards!

Then I realized what I really would change. I am a terrible procrastinator! A brilliant procrastinator.

THEN, I remembered an old blog post I actually started on procrastination! '
Great', I thought. I can use that!
When I found it, I found it was dated March, 2011. I never finished it. Oh yeah, now THAT is procrastination!

I am not always that bad, but I do procrastinate. I procrastinate a lot. I actually procrastinate pretty regularly, consistently even. I don't put off procrastination!

I would change that one thing about myself. I actually do try to change that. I write lists, set schedules, assign time limits for tasks so I can get to all of them. I try all that, but somehow on my lists one or two tasks get transferred on to each new list for weeks, even months. Then I just don't write them on the list anymore.

Yes, I would change that one thing about myself.
I would not procrastinate.
I WILL change that!
Soon.

  1. Story of my life! I spend too much time planning and not doing. Or, I get distracted with little things along the way. And let's not even go down the Facebook road! Procrastination is definitely something I need to work on.
