Patterns and unique baby to adult items. Featured Artisan ~ Jazz It Up With Designs by Nancy

Image
This week, we have more beautiful jewelry and fiber items by Nancy, a talented creator from Massachusetts.  Nancy says:  Crafting is my hobby. I love jewelry making, knitting, crocheting, painting. I love trying new things to create new designs. Generally, I design my own items. I rarely use patterns and if I do, I will change something about them to make them unique. I do a lot of exploring in youtube for tutorials on basic techniques and then apply them to the stock products that I have. I hope to make very unique items. Anything you see in my store, especially knit, is very flexible and can be made in different color to tweaked slightly. Also if you are looking for something, please contact me and I will search for patterns.   Enjoy her creations, and be sure to find her online. jazz it up with Designs by Nancy Featured Artist on Share the Love… Blogger’s Unite Jazz it up with Designs by Nancy   is this weeks Featured Artist on Share the Love, Blogge...

Two Rows Short of a Full Glove

Image
A new term for one who be a little less than sane or smart? Two Rows Short of a Full Glove. Perhaps! This was ME yesterday. Literally, and figuratively. We were on the road, driving our oldest back to college, to his new apartment. He took the plunge and moved off campus, mid-year just to make it interesting.  I had finally accepted this milestone of My Little Cuddle Bear , and was happy and excited for him. We ordered the futon bed and mattress, one of which would arrive that afternoon. (thankfully the mattress so at least he could sleep on it on the floor until the base arrives. oh the college days...) We got him some dishes, a few kitchen supplies, and a closet organizer, after much discussion and debate over the benefits of this in lieu of a dresser. His roommate had the rest, he assured us.  So, we were on our way to deposit him in his 'life away from home', I was sitting in the back crocheting my little heart out. I was happily working on an order for a pair ...

Walking on Wednesday - Finding My Way Through a Coffee Bag

Image
Opportunities arise when you least expect them. And sometimes they involve things you never thought you would  try. The key is to let go of your limits, to step outside the box. Sometimes it is finding your way through a coffee bag. An opportunity presented itself at the beginning of this month that Raige never thought of. A coffee grinder had some coffee bags they wanted to see turned in to other things. They didn't want to just sell the bags, they wanted to give them to someone to inspire them to create, and then they wanted to showcase those creations in their coffee shop.  Coffee bags. Burlap. This is a medium Raige had not explored before.  The question to Raige was: "So, are you a seamstress?"  Raige: "What??? Um, NO. I would certainly not call myself a seamstress. But I CAN sew a bit."   Thank goodness Laura was as willing to take that leap of faith as Raige was. She gave me a bag, and thus began the journey through a coffee bag. As with any ...

Music Monday! That's the Impression That I Get

Image
A wonderful Monday, and perfect day for the ska-punk genre of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones ! I am sure you all know this song, but didn't know the band was an American third wave ska band from Boston, Massachusetts. I awoke normally for getting the kids to school, off they went, and I proceeded to do my normal routine of computer, cleaning, putting away laundry, etc. Instant Colored Eggs I was finishing up some egg cozies when I heard the chainsaw. Yes, the chainsaw. (the neighbor's needed to take down some precariously tall and crooked trees hanging over their driveway) Then thump thump, the tree came down. What song popped in my head? I've never had to knock on wood But I know someone who has Which makes me wonder if I could It makes me wonder if I've never had to knock on wood And I'm glad I haven't yet Because I'm sure it isn't good that's the impression that I get Knocking on wood , and the spoken expression "knock on...

Toekini Anyone? It's GIVEAWAY time!

Image
Raige Creations turns 1 year old next week. To celebrate, Raige is doing her FIRST GIVEAWAY! I can't believe a year has passed, and how far Raige has come. Certainly, the handmade community and its supporters had something to do with Raige not giving up, and Raige's customers are just the best! So to honor all you wonderful people, Raige is happy to give. What to give, you ask? 3 New Toekini's TOEKINIS OF COURSE Toekinis have, by far, generated the most buzz at Raige Creations. It seems fitting to celebrate with one of them.  Every time I have Toekini's on my brain, I think "Life is good today" and this song from Music Monday  gets stuck in my head.with these lyrics: "I've got my toes in the water, ass in the sand,  not a worry in the world ,  a cold beer in my hand. Life is good today, life is good today." But life is good today, even if it is not yet summer here, and to celebrate - the giveaway will be your CHOICE of TOEK...
