Today, I was. 
I got some pictures done and some new, old vintage stuff listed.

I think I would have loved living in the Roaring 20's. I love the fashion, and probably would have cut a rug or two with The Charleston. 

Things seem to have been much more elegant.

Ah well, at least I can show some beautiful things from back then. 

 I did get to enjoy the era in its fullest a while back with The Great Gatsby. (I loved it!)

 I actually like F. Scott Fitzgerald's work, and his real life story is an intriguing snapshot of the times. I almost wish I could have lived then.

    What a fun collections! The gold purse and cigarette case are so cool. I don't know if I have a favorite era, but I do love the clothes from the 50's and early 60's.

    Valerie, I see some of the fashions from the 60's in today's fashion. And after the Gatsby movie, I see some flapper styles creeping in too. Funny how fashion comes back around.

It's not the kind of money tree you are thinking.  I wish it was. But it is not. It is technically a Pachira . The name supposedly comes from a story of it's origin.  A poor man prayed for money, and then found this "odd" plant. He took it home as an omen, and made money from selling plants grown from it's seeds. I bought it at a grocery store when we first moved back to the states, in 2004 . We had just moved in to our own house, after being displaced from Hurricane Ivan , and our new place needed some green. This was the biggest plant, for the least amount of money , at the grocery store. It said it was ' foolproof ' , and that is the right plant for me ! I thought the name was an omen too, hoping it would bring good fortune, meaning a little money .  It decorated our living room in New York for almost 6 years ! Music Monday! Just Dance

A surprise suggestion, this song was. I asked a friend-who-is-family for some ideas, as I wanted to do a Music Monday this week, but was having trouble picking a song. Just didn't have any that felt right at the time. So this friend, who by the way is someone we (hubby first actually) 'met' online. Communicated for quite a while before actually meeting in person. But you just know when you click with someone and we are going on over 8 years of friendship, I believe, though it feels like we have known each other forever. She has been a wonderful addition to our extremely small circle of friends. She is 'auntie' to my kids, she is who I vent to almost on a daily basis via messages, she is always willing to listen unconditionally. And that, my dear readers, is hard to find these days.
