Music Monday! 12 Days of Christmas

Hoping to get in to the Christmas Spirit, but finding it difficult this year, I tried to listen to that radio station that plays only Christmas music from Thanksgiving to Christmas. (they started before Thanksgiving this year! UGH!)

I made it through one song. 

I start getting into Christmas, then get overwhelmed, sidetracked, stresses, confused.  

Kind of like this song!


Finding gifts for teens, and hubby, is a bigger challenge this year with our tight budget, and no one really wanting or needing anything. 

What do you give then? Still searching for answers to that. 

And then the in-laws will be here too. They really don't need anything, they are now living in an RV (no room for anything), and will probably get mad at us for spending our money on them - you know how parents are.

So my 12 days of Christmas are feeling a lot like the muddled, all over the place, 12 Days from Straight No Chaser.

Maybe getting the tree will help me focus, or at least putting out some decorations. That is now on the to-do list this week. Then maybe finish the gifts.

    I'm familiar with the problem of buying gifts for people who don't need or want anything. Hubby and I decided to skip the gifting part of Christmas and just cook a delicious dinner together instead. The rest of the fam will get handmade, small gifts like felt coasters, scented sachets etc. There's no fun in Christmas when searching for gifts becomes too stressful.

    Christmas can be a difficult time of year. Luckily my family decided years ago to stop exchanging gifts and focus on spending time together instead. Maybe for the kids you could try gift cards to their favorite restaurant or the movies? Then they will think of you when spending them. :)

A surprise suggestion, this song was. I asked a friend-who-is-family for some ideas, as I wanted to do a Music Monday this week, but was having trouble picking a song. Just didn't have any that felt right at the time. So this friend, who by the way is someone we (hubby first actually) 'met' online. Communicated for quite a while before actually meeting in person. Weekend Musings ~ Will Walk for Bread

Back in the mountains, I love it. I forgot how lovely the summer is here, and finally the weather is gorgeous. The flowers are out and everything is green. Wildflowers My musing this weekend are as simple as enjoying two of my favorite things:  Walking and  Bread It has been tough for me to let myself take the time to get a few walks in ~ yes I was too busy to get walks in and I know that is just an excuse but sometimes you just gotta take a break. From everything.  And any more than that, I just do not want to dwell on. Also, I am not feeling too wordy today, so will just let the pictures speak for me. The road to the RAD and the bakery nestled in the district with the bread (no beer for me)  A river crossing - it sure did look muddy today probably from the recent rains. Bread and soft pretzel - yumminess. River crossing heading home - lovely even if still muddy.
