I felt I had to share this with all my friends, it really made me laugh, and I think we can all relate.... Living in 2010 YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2010 when... 1. Yes, apparently first in the 1980's, then later revised several times, last in 1994, by Rommy Revson , albeit first named after her dog, Scunci!  As I learned in "Hair Scrunchies, Explained - Scrunchie 101" , apparently there has been some debate as to wether they were a fashion sin or still the fashionable "go-to hair accessory." Every other day [every other day] of the week is fine, yeah, but whenever Monday comes [but whenever Monday comes] you can find me crying, all of the time.....and has got me California Dreaming , all the leaves are brown and the sky is grey..... These songs popped in my head first thing when seeing my youngest son's face this morning.  It's grey and raining, and news of snow in the south had us off to a sad start this Monday morning. Then, over coffee, my husband and I were 'going retro' in our heads, and remembering these songs on the AM Radio when we were young.... which inevitably gave way to later memories including this one: (don't' worry about the warning - just re-click on the object and it will open) If you can relate to any, or all, of the references in this video, then this should brighten your Monday. :D

Being a hereditary carrier of the recessive 'colorblind' genes, I have first hand experience seeing my sons growing up with being Red/Green Color Deficient, often referred to as 'colorblind'. All of us 'color-seers' could not relate to or understand why, when asked if one wanted to put on a green shirt (St. Patty's Day), he put on a tan one insisting it was green, and finally settled on saying "it's close enough". That is, unless others searched as long and hard as my husband did years ago to find a very usefull Photoshop plug-in from VISCHECK for transforming pictures into how 'colorblind' individuals see the world, and everything in it. A search engine will bring up web-site design links that allow you to transform your site (generally for a fee) as well, but the plug-in is free, can be used on any image, and has been an invaluable tool we have utilized for years. I was taking the time to catch up on some of my fellow blogers and read their posts. I stumbled across Jac-Ber Creations and their blog on Confessions from a Firefli's Trinket box blog. (I like small boxes too) I was curious of Jac-Ber Creations because of our similar names. There I found, now I can't remember exactly how, this great craft site Craft Passion . I could spend hours here wandering around, finding tutorials, patterns, things that get my creativeness going. I found a free pattern for Simple Hairbands: Crochet Pattern: Simple Hairband craftpassion.com . I know I can't be the only one who just has to get the hair up, off my neck and face, especially when the weather is warmer. This idea I love, because you can use leftover yarns. I generally am a fan of Ben Franklin, but twice a year I find myself cursing his "moments of whismey" . Yesterday, being a Sunday, I was not too concerned about what time I got up, but was shocked to find out it was 9:42! Then realized the other clocks in the house (not atomic clocks like my alarm clock) said an hour earlier. Oh yeah, I forgot, Daylight Savings. I always forget, by the way. Last fall I showed up at my son's friend's house to pick him up an hour early and the mother said, while wrapped in a towel from just getting out of the shower, "what are you doing here? It's only 8:30am!"Ooopps So this morning, we all had to get up early for school, etc. and it was STILL dark. On Friday, we all got up glad to see some birds outside, just glad to see light.
