Music Monday! What it's Like
Great song suggested by hubby.
He thought in light of all the tornado's and terrible weather here in NC we should take a minute, or 4 (this song is just over 4 minutes) and think about those who were affected.
We were lucky, this time. Our basement had a little water seeping in and some of our collectibles got soaked, and some ruined. We have been less lucky in the past, with our experience of a Cat.5 hurricane.
So every time bad weather rears its ugly head, we take a moment and think about how thankful we are that we only lost our house and some material items. We all got through safe and sound, and besides the photos and some other memorabilia we could not replace, we only lost 'stuff'. Not our loved ones.
Others have not been so lucky.
This song, as Everlast says
"It’s about empathy. It’s saying, don’t judge… because you’ve got as much dirt under your fingernails."
"It’s about empathy. It’s saying, don’t judge… because you’ve got as much dirt under your fingernails."
And God forbid you ever have to wake up to the news
Cause then you really might know what it's like to have to lose...
Very important to remember, it's all only "stuff". We can attach as much importance to things as we'd like, but when it comes down to, it can all be replaced. I'd much rather lose the photos of my kids, as long as I still have them smiling at me from across the dinner table. :) (haven't heard this song in forever!)
