Bones sez Happy Halloween Happy Halloween! It is a sad one for me today, as it marks the last day of NaBloWriMo 2013 .  And yes, it's Halloween, but we really don't celebrate that much anymore. For one, I have no candy for trick-or-treaters (we don't get any because of our long, beautiful yet potentially creepy even on a normal day, driveway). Second, my teens don't dress up for Halloween anymore (well, except my daughter who gets to dress as a literary character in AP English class - she is Elizabeth from Frankenstein, but I won't get to see her in costume!)  The most I do for Halloween is hang up my dear old friend Bones . He was an excellent Toekini model, but lately he just hangs around. I have really enjoyed this year's NaBloWriMo . I made some good new blogging friends, and my passion for blogging is even stronger now. I am sad in a way that it is done for this year. Also, I suddenly have a desire to make more Toekini's ! Yup. Think it finally has hit me. I. Am. Burnt. Out.   How do I know? It could be that I wake up every day wishing for a vacation.  - Or -  That when I am getting ready to go in to work I just wish I could hire someone to go in for me.  - Or  - That I can't even find the motivation to get out there and run/walk (knowing this usually gives me the energy to get through the day.) - Or - On my one day off I spend in sweatpants and fluffy socks, not brushing my hair, not doing any chores, barely getting off the couch. I couldn't even get up to put the kettle on for a nice cup of tea. Boys and Girls of every age Wouldn't you like to see something strange? Poor Jack Skellington  and his obsession with Christmas . There IS something about the holiday season that most of us can't resist too. Remember MY recent obsession with Christmas and Mini Stockings ??? But today, it is about Halloween .  Pumpkins, Trick-or-treating,  spookiness and skeletons . 'Bones' modeling some Halloween Toekini's . One of my 3 Halloween decorations. Enjoy the roasted pumpkin seeds and candy, and the  ghosts and ghouls . Glow in the Dark Ghost Toekini's , glowing. And trick-or-treat some for me. My kids are too old now to be interested in that. Plus our driveway is too long and spooky for us to be getting any trick-or-treaters. So it will most likely be a normal night for us.  I am thinking Spaghetti for dinner....um I mean Worms and Blood ....with garlic bread. How does that sound?? That is about as scary as things will be around here.  Wha...

October 1st The wind was cool and brisk last night The skies were dark and grey. It was really too early for fright But I got one, what else can I say? I was searching for a great collection, Trying so hard to find items that match. When unexpectedly, I felt the need for protection. What was that noise in the pumpkin patch?? Suddenly my task wasn't so daunting, I had inspiration to find items and their matches. I settled with the theme of haunting - it happens even in pumpkin patches. With all the  Halloween  preparations,  I seem to have gone batty! Boo!   Are you ready for Halloween? Sure you may be, but ARE YOUR FEET?? It is right around the corner,  and to celebrate,  Raige has made some  FUN and SPOOKY Toekini's!! My regular model was at school,  so luckily, and spookily,  Bones stepped in to help.  Meet Bones, modeling some Halloween Toekini's His feet are incredibly small, so they didn't fit him right, but at least you get the idea.  In this shot, he is wearing the Pumpkin Orange on Black Toekini's. (Yes, he is short with incredibly small feet, so we tied them at his knee...not the ideal Toekini model, but you work with what you've got) Pumpkin Orange Toekini's He was a super model, really. The first set is not too scary, some festive Pumpkin Orange Toekini's.  Perfect for that hay ride, and bobbing for apples. Or even that barn dance party. Not too scary stuff. Batty Orange Toekini's But be careful of the bats in that barn. They can swoop right down ...

I used to think I wasn't too bad at carving pumkins. I used to think my husband, who is much better at carving than me, was great at carving pumkins.  Then I saw this guy and his pumkins. This pumpkin is good, no question. But when I saw this video of some more examples of the best pumkin carver in the world, Ray Villafane,   my jaw hit the floor and all I could do was just watch and say things like "wow", Oh my Gosh", and "That is amazing" each time a new pumkin was shown. Then, to top it all off, the last sculpture blew my mind. Maybe next year we can carve something better than these. Have a sweetly scary day!
