Music Monday! Handmade Christmas!

Today there is enough snow on the ground to call it covered, tho only about 1/4 inch. The kids got their first snow day however, because of the bitter cold and black ice "they" said. They were so amused to see barely any snow on the ground and have no school because of the weather. They remember our time in Western New York, when it took 2 feet of snow in 2 hours to cancel school. This is nothing compared to those snow days!

So all this (little bit of) snow makes it feel a bit more like Christmastime to us.  We went downstairs to get out some decorations, and as in years past, I found some of the ornaments the kids have made to give our tree special meaning. This one is one of my favorites, a snowman in the mind of a 1st grader. (He is 12 now!) There is something about the artwork of a child that is so special, and I love that it adorns our tree every year.

A surprise suggestion, this song was. I asked a friend-who-is-family for some ideas, as I wanted to do a Music Monday this week, but was having trouble picking a song. Just didn't have any that felt right at the time. So this friend, who by the way is someone we (hubby first actually) 'met' online. Communicated for quite a while before actually meeting in person. Weekend Musings ~ Will Walk for Bread

Back in the mountains, I love it. I forgot how lovely the summer is here, and finally the weather is gorgeous. The flowers are out and everything is green. Wildflowers My musing this weekend are as simple as enjoying two of my favorite things:  Walking and  Bread It has been tough for me to let myself take the time to get a few walks in ~ yes I was too busy to get walks in and I know that is just an excuse but sometimes you just gotta take a break. From everything.  And any more than that, I just do not want to dwell on. Also, I am not feeling too wordy today, so will just let the pictures speak for me. The road to the RAD and the bakery nestled in the district with the bread (no beer for me)  A river crossing - it sure did look muddy today probably from the recent rains. Bread and soft pretzel - yumminess. River crossing heading home - lovely even if still muddy.
