Music Monday! A Request Music Monday with Sympathy

Sometimes, songs are in my head all day, all different ones, and I am humming happily from morning 'till night. Other times, there is nothing but silence, or only to-do lists, or worries about unfinished projects. Today, that is what my head is filled with - worries about unfinished projects and the promise I made on Facebook of new items this week. So I am taking a request made by my friend, Laci at Zig - Zags Handmade This N' Thats . She LOVEs the Goo Goo Dolls , and wanted me to play Sympathy . It seems fitting today, as I complain about too much to do and so little time, I know most of you can sympathize with that. It is also interesting to me because every time I hear the Goos (as they are affectionately called these days) I am reminded of the first time I heard of them, and heard them. They are natives to Buffalo area, as am I. So, back in the mid 1980's, when my friend asked me to go to her school's dance where there was live music, I said "Sure, s...

Eggbert the Eggplant

Image
Say Hello to Eggbert. Yes, the winning name is Eggbert - I think it fits well, and it was the most popular name suggested. Well, one of those was a reference to his cross-dressing days, Eggbertina, but counts anyways. We are currently hard at work creating some coasters, inspired by the Winter Flannel Quilt. So I left him working while I took a moment to type this. Since my current sewing table is in a basement, not very well lit, Eggbert is really great company. That smile keeps my mood up, and even makes me chuckle a few times - I keep looking at his eyes and ask him what he's been smokin'. Thank you everyone for your contributions, and of course to Laci (ZigZags) for creating him and giving him such personality!

Help me name my Eggplant Pincushion for motivation

Image
I wanted to share this adorable Eggplant Pincushion with everyone that ZigZag's Handmade This n'That made for me. I found her on Etsy.com making cute cactus pincushions and asked if she could make me an eggplant pincushion (I love purple and I love Eggplants!) I am getting ready to tackle another quilt and thought this pincushion would get me motivated and keep me company through the inevitable trials and tribulations associated with quiltmaking. As I have said in my other quilt posts ( The Quilt Story and Quilt Story 2 ), although frustrating sometimes, I love getting through all the steps and seeing my efforts evolve into my finished product. This cute little "thing" (male, female, it, don't know!) can be with me the whole way, giving me that encouraging smile and keep me going Problem is - it doesn't have a name! Help me name it so I can say " so and so , what have I done that these don't line up?" and " so and so , what color looks b...
