Good Things 2020

Image
Well this year I am trying it. A Good Things Jar Good things jar. Strategically placed. For years we have seen this idea, but I bet no one has really ever done it. Well, okay not no one, but really, do you know anyone that has ever done this? Just do a quick  Pinterest  search and you will find a bunch of Jar Ideas. Source - Pinterest I never have started a jar, but always thought it was a good idea. This year, I finally put one out. Strategically placed next to the fridge, on top of our antique medicine cabinet, in plain view. (a photo of my mothers now in the background, near our duct tape because you never know when you will need duct tape, and emergency flashlights and candles which we need more than you would think because the power goes out that often. Ah island living.) I still need to put scraps of paper near it with a pen, so it is easy to add the good things. All in an effort to ensure this year, setting the tone for the next decade, will be differe...

Music Monday! Best Day Of My Life

Image
The perfect way to start a new year!   I heard this song on the radio yesterday, as we were moving things into our new booth at the Antique Tobacco Barn here in Asheville. It was a long road there, one we worked hard for and waited for, and it finally came.   It is an awesome place to wander (77,000 sq.ft.), there are lots of vendors there, and loads of really cool stuff.    And now we, Blue Rage of Asheville , are a part of it.  Awesome.  Lots of work, yes, but it has already paid off!  I couldn't be happier, things are finally falling into place. So, the best day of my life?  Maybe not the best of my entire life, but certainly the best lately.  It was around this time too that I made a commitment to myself. I vowed to remove everything that brings negativity to my life, and concentrate on only the positive and things that make me happy and feel good. My one and only resolution, but one that I think will make a h...

Music Monday! Puff the Magic Dragon

Image
In honor of the Chinese New Year today,  2012 being the year of the dragon , I am featuring the only good dragon song I know.   The  Dragon in Chinese Culture  symbolizes potent and  auspicious  powers. It is also a symbol of good luck. 2012 is the year of the Water Dragon as well, proven today by the non-stop rain we have had so far. Let today's new moon bring you creativity, and good fortune for the whole year.

Collections to Keep Me Busy - Dare to Dream in 2012

Image
Sitting here with the kids, the school closed today due to 'widespread hazardous conditions until at least noon', thinking this is a nice treat. Instead of starting the year with crazy back to school day, we are all cuddled up on the couch, hanging out. I think it's going to be a good year. So let's Dare to Dream . Dare to Dream in 2012   Curated By: RaigeCreations ArtFire.com Vintage Fashion I am dreaming of an increase in Toekini sales, and expanding my local presence with some local shows and maybe a couple new locations. My optimism is still going strong! Now I will go put the kettle on, enjoy some tea and enjoy the light snowfall. Care to share some of your dreams for 2012?

New Year - New Look for Raige Creations!

Image
You have probably noticed that Raige has a new look. After one year, Raige began to feel like she had found her groove, and the old banner just didn't fit anymore. It was dated, dark, and just not right.  Bring in Judy, aka Portable Graffiti Graphics , and my husband, and voila! The fresh new Raige. That makes it sound like it was easy. Well, as Judy found out, it never is that easy with me. Indecisive, picky, and often slow to respond, I changed my mind several times.  My husband, who may be a touch pickier than me, would add his opinion and a bit of his artistic critique, and we would be back to the drawing board. In fact, we are still working out some details on this one. Stickers - round - a lot of information. This is the original. I had her change it, moving words, putting the web addys around the edge, but as I look at this one, I think maybe we will have to start back at the begining - this one isn't bad!. Sorry Judy -...

Music Monday! What will 2011 bring? The answer is Blowin in the Wind....

This was a tough one to pick today, being the first of 2011. We (my family and I) went through so many great songs, old and new. I wanted a song that would make our expectations for this new year limitless, and that would convey our feeling that this year is going to be a good year. One songwriter came to mind, one who writes songs that are poetic and meaningful, and says thing like this: It is 2011, 40 years after Bob Dylan performed this song at Madison Square Garden . But the song is still relevant today, with lyrics that anyone ponders from time to time.  It gives us permission to reflect, consider possibilites, and explore things we usually don't. So begin your new year well, consider the possibilites and opportunities, explore and reflect, and may the answers come to you as delicately as if they were blowing in the wind.
