The Trip

I am glad to finally be able to write a bit.  I thought it fitting that I review the adventure we had to get us to NC and set up our new life.  We rented the largest U-Haul they have on a Tuesday, noon-time.  After some delays, we arrived at the warehouse where we housed our belongings that we could't fit in our temporary living situation. The loaders we hired were a bit surprised at the amount of things we had here, but willingly started to unload the warehouse and load the truck. After about 3 hours, they seemed tired, and a little bit bummed that we had just as much stuff at the house we were staying in.  So off we went to that location, and the difficult task of arranging eveything else we wanted to bring with us to fit in the truck began.  Mind you, this was about the hottest day in Western New York, with humidity right up there, and these loaders were not young, sprite fellows.  As seven o'clock rolled around and we sti...

Music Monday! Back in the Saddle Again

It has been a rough road we traveled in the past 2 weeks. Lots of heavy lifting, driving long hours, towing our lives behind us. There was a nightmare of a motel we found and had the displeasure of staying at (basement room, so damp there was mold on the ceiling, and I am not even gonna talk about the smell!), because we were so tired and the next motel was an hour away. Then our arrival at our new place, more heavy lifting, and finally opening the boxes to find our things we had forgotten we had. But we have survived, we are getting comfortable, and I am BACK for Music Monday - and ready to ride again. I am looking forward to getting back to the Raige and even creating a new section at Raige Creations. I'm back in the saddle.

Music Monday! Draggin My Wagon

Yup, it's time. Fitting tune for our imminent adventure.  We will be draggin ourselves out of town this week. And for those of you who are country music lovers, this should satisfy your yearning a bit. :) Maybe. See y'all next week.

Music Monday! Learning to Fly

We watched young Wrens learning to fly this morning.  There were 3 babies clinging to the pine needles hanging below their nest. One by one, they took that leap of faith, and quickly fell to the ground.  Once provoked (walked over to try to get a pic for this post) they successfully and repeatedly took flight again and again, and probably learned faster than most Wrens learning to fly.  There's no sensation to compare with this Suspended animation, a state of bliss Can't keep my mind from the circling skies Tongue-tied and twisted just an earthbound misfit, I.
