Walking on Wednesday ~ Fuzzy Headed Snow Day

Image
source: someecards.com via  Pinterest It started yesterday, but I didn't want to say anything. Throat hurting from the post-nasal drip that started, but I just took some Advil hoping for the best.  I hate being sick, mainly because I still have to DO STUFF when I am sick! source: Philosody via Pinterest Then this morning, I woke up before 7am (wha?? no school and I am up before 7am??). I felt it in my nose and sinuses.  I have a cold.  And, I don't have any tissues. I have a fuzzy head, and not just from the medicine I took while the coffee was brewing. Actually, today may just be the perfect day to take advantage of accomplishing little, and complaining to anyone who will listen.... school is closed, businesses are closed, and everyone is home and kind of bored.  Perfect audience for my whining. But that isn't how the day played out, of course. source: Pinterest I DID manage to get a nap, but woke up to clean the oven (son cook...

Cleaning Out the Filing Cabinet...In This Weather?

Image
Yup, I am cold.  But, I haven't been outside, but I have been in the basement to store some old files.  Old files that we are not supposed to throw away for at least seven years, but now have filled up my filing cabinet so that I don't have room for the new stuff.  It is the first attempt I have made to take care of year end stuff. Mainly, I am trying to get motivated to compile everything needed for the dreaded taxes. But so far, cleaning out the filing cabinet is as far as I have gotten. And since under the basement stairs is a good place to store such piles of papers, I was under there digging out my bin of papers. The floor was cold, the basement cold, and my bin was jam packed. This lead to searching for a file box, which incidentally was full of stuff that wasn't files.  So, I had to empty it, find places for that junk, and then put the new old files in the file box. I was down there for quite a while, in only my fuzzy socks , leggings, and a sweatsh...

Walking on Wednesday ~ The Space of Your Dreams ~ NaBloPoMo Prompt

My Current  Dream Writing Space photo: Raige Creations Someday, my Actual Writing Space and my Dream Writing Space will be the same. For now, I mostly sit at my dining room table, which is not what's in the first picture here, by the way. That is my kitchen table, with a nice view, plenty of light, more comfortable chairs. My Current Dream Writing Space. My Actual Writing Space is my dining table, and it is basically in the living room (it wouldn't fit in the kitchen). The living room is on the side of the house that doesn't get sunlight, so it is very dark and the lamps don't really help that much. My Actual Writing Space (dining set IS for sale ..... as soon as we can move it out of there.....) photo: Raige Creations It is also where after a couple hours my back starts to hurt, because my  my feet don't touch the floor when sitting on the dining room chairs because I have short legs. This strains my lower back so I can hardly sit, and basically make...

Sunday Runday ~ Relax

Image
Second full day at home, doing home things, and I love it! I am much more relaxed today, in leggings and a big-ass old stained sweatshirt, and my fuzzy socks .  It is amazing what 2 days in a row off can do. For one, I got back to running. I took 2 days off this week, and could run more today than the last workout. Plus, I still have 5 days working out for the week.  Rest is good! Still 5 days on the calendar for the week! photo courtesy of Raige Creations (This is what I want my calendar to look like most of the time, between 4 and 5 workouts, walking or running, each week.) Believe it or not, this run today WAS relaxing for me today. There was no rushing, nothing plaguing my mind that I had to get done today (except for dinner, which I thankfully already have planned as Chicken and Noodles! recipe here ). Oh, and getting a blog in today for NaBloWriMo , still keeping with that goal of making writing more a part of my life. Today, my run could be as fast ...

Walking on Wednesday ~ My Fuzzy Socks ~ NaBloWriMo Day 9

My Fuzzy Socks photo courtesy of Raige Creations Something about putting on my fuzzy socks comforts me.  When the fall comes, they are the first thing I put on in the dark hours of the morning.  With my fuzzy socks on, I don't feel the chill. With my fuzzy socks on, I can tackle the day. They are warm, comfy, cozy.  They signify the change of season, the colder weather. They remind me how wonderful cuddling under hubby's quilt is. They make me feel the comfort of togetherness that comes when it gets dark earlier, it gets colder, and the holidays mean family time together.  They make me feel like staying in them all day, cooking, baking, just being at home. I can't wear them with any shoes, they are too fluffy.  When I have them on, I am not going anywhere. They make me feel like staying in them all day, writing witty things, writing compelling stories, creating anything really.  So, here I am, typing nonsense about my wonderful fuzzy ...
