Walking on Wednesday - Sometimes a Walk is Just a Walk!

I forget that sometimes. Sometimes I try to make it more than that. My multi-tasking goes too far.  I consider my walks 'working walks' far too often. I grab the camera and think   I gotta take some pictures today,  I gotta get some good ones for the blog. Instead of just walking, I search for great shots, I stop often, I am absorbed in trying to take pictures. Or I make the walk about why I am walking.   I ate too much ice cream,  I need to do that extra hill today,  and those cookies, take it a bit faster! Often I set out on my walk with the tasks.  What am I going to write about today?   I spend the walk writing in my head, actually working out the script.  Other days I am consumed with what to create.  How am I going make that new Toekini ?  How is that necklace going to work without being too bulky?  What is the best way to design that matching bracelet ?  And those Jellyfish!  Oh, and I gotta finish...

Music Monday! I Got My New Shoes On

Image
Now you are probably thinking... Is she STILL going on about her new walking shoes ?  Oh brother! And yes, I still am!  But unless you went from these: Notice the heel tread completely worn off on one shoe,  the missing label in the center, and the yellow worn off the front section.   To these: Brand spankin' new, GEL, pink and black, dressy blingy going out to party, (as hubby called them when he saw them) awesome walking shoes!   Unless you made a transition like this, well you just can't understand.  Every day since I got these walking shoes, this song has been in my head when I slip into these and go for my walk. I am humming it while I am walking on cushions, there is a hop to my step, and suddenly everything is right ! So today I am featuring this song to celebrate, and partly to get it the heck out of my head.  Because frankly I am a little sick of it.  I found if a song is stuck in my head, and I feature it here on Mus...

Walking on Wednesday - Scary Movie Walk and FUN FOG

Image
Crow on a Branch in the Fog Yesterday, it was foggy. A real thick, dark, grey, scary movie kind of fog.  Something about it, and the schedule I wanted to keep, made me want to put on my new walking shoes and get out there in the fog.  I know I talked about fog before, a few times. Each time I talk about it, I realize I am in a different frame of mind. Either in a fog myself , or  happy to greet the fog , sometimes it's  spectacular fog  or the  challenges becoming clear in the fog .  Foggy Hill   Yesterday, I had a completely different reaction to the fog.  A scary movie walk kind of fog which in my mind was set to be FUN FOG.  I realized how important attitude can be. On most other days, I would look out at the fog, ponder its wonderful wet beauty, and say to myself - ' No walk right now' . Yesterday, all I could think was - 'Hey, that would be a cool walk !' Tiny Spiderweb in the Bush With the 'scary movie walk' ...

Music Monday! These Eyes

Image
Ever since last Thursday, this song,  'These Eyes'  by  The Guess Who ,  has been in my head. WHY?   Because of these eyes. Last Thursday morning, I woke up at 6:05am (like I do every weekday to get the kids to school), noticed the door to my daughters room was already open, she was not there. Still half asleep, I notice the kitchen light was on. I shuffle in there, the light hurting my tired eyes. I see my daughter hovered over the kitchen counter by the coffee maker. " Are you OK? " I ask worried and confused as to why she was in the kitchen so early. She mumbles " Yeah " , (she is not a morning person), and I notice the message board on the fridge, and the picture next to it. " Oh " is all I can manage to say, still a little groggy. Then, " Oh, you're making coffee! " . I walk over to her and hug her, she is still hovered over the coffee maker struggling with the filter. I notice she is not sure how is all works, so give her so...
