Just about one year ago, 2 re-sets to factory settings, 2 bouts of lost data (everything), and 1 new hard drive, my laptop is still plugging along. Here's to another year, with fewer issues I hope. Happy Birthday to My Laptop   Curated By: RaigeCreations ArtFire.com Handmade Gifts

Walking on Wednesday - Writers Block

Image
So I totally skipped this post today, well nearly. It's 11pm right now, and because I have struggled all day with trying to write, I have not written anything until now. And what am I writing about?  I am writing about not being able to write. It's not that I don't have ideas ! In fact, I get ideas almost every day, during my walks. (And yes, you would be proud of me that I have been walking regularly for about 4 weeks now.)  I noticed that during my walks, I get ideas. Ideas about what to write about, ideas about what to make , ideas about how to get certain things I was struggling with to work creatively.  I started jotting down my ideas when I got home on a note pad . I even went so far as to start drafts of posts about my blog ideas! But today, I couldn't finish writing those, I couldn't get the new ideas from scrap paper to beginning blog post. I just couldn't 'feel' it.  Has that ever happened to you? How do you get past that? For me, r...

Music Monday! Eye of the Tiger

Image
Another blast from the past!  Eye of the Tiger ,  by  Survivor . What other song  would fit the introduction  of my newest Toekini's? The Purple Tiger Toekini's new at Raige Creations The tiger , a majestic and noble creature,  paired with royal purple, is a winning match.  And perfect to show on your strong feet. It's the Eye of the Tiger It's the thrill of the fight Rising up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor Stalks his prey in the night And he's watching us all With the Eye of the Tiger What better way to showcase  the Purple Tiger Toekini's   than with some Rocky , Survivor ,  and some boxing ? Roar.

Walking on Wednesday - Are You Sad to See Summer Go? Or is it Just Me?

Image
I noticed on my walk this morning, that the trees on the mountains are already starting to change color!  Not many, just a few. But as you look at the hills, you see a small pop of yellow here and there. Also, it has become a little too cool for just a tee shirt. I had to dig out a long sleeve to wear this morning. And during the days, it is that in-between kind of temperature where a tee is not quite enough, and a sweatshirt is just a little too much. (okay, I am convinced that hot flashes may be involved in these internal temperature swings, but hubby does not concur) Llamajamas sweater These are sure signs that sweet Summer is leaving us, and Fall is pushing his way right in. And I am starting to think I am the only one mourning this change of season this year. I am reading and hearing how wonderful fall is, how great it is that it here now, super that we get to turn on the wood burning stove, and wear our warm wool-y sweaters.  Well, I for one am going to miss the hec...

Music Monday! Working for the Weekend

Image
We all do it, in one way or another, work all weekend, though perhaps not in the way that this song details. But still a fitting and groovy song for today, where we are celebrating Labor Day . The first big Labor Day Celebration was 99 years before today's Music Monday! feature. It was to celebrate organized labor, and has come to encompass, more generally, working people in the US. If you have your own business, you know that working for the weekend, including Labor Day, is the norm. Loverboy , an iconic 80's band, came on the scene in 1980, releasing this arena rock song Working for the Weekend in 1981. I was just 10 years old, the concept of working, much less working for the weekend, was foreign to me. But growing up in the 80's, this song was a large part of the music that shaped the decade. So, get your red leather pants out, sport your red headband, and rock on, while you are undoubtedly checking your email, listing items, networking, creating......WORKING. G...

Collections to Keep Me Busy - I Love the Mountains

Image
We moved here to the Blue Ridge Mountains just over a year ago.  I figured the novelty would wear off a bit, but no, I still am in awe at the views and beauty of the mountains. And so are plenty of others, as evidenced in their wonderful creations. Please leave a comment to show them some love, and feel free to share! One of the items in the original Collection has sold already, so let's spread the word and see if some more can sell. Enjoy.
