Thanks to M.L. Gardner , my chocolates source: Raige Creations Yes, I will be talking about chocolate, again. I so enjoyed the Godiva chocolates I won , not just because they were SO delish, but because it made me stop, relax, and enjoy the company I was with. It also brought back memories of when I was young. My father used to buy Whitman's Samplers every holiday, no doubt bought from the pharmacy on the corner.  It was his special treat for the family, probably one he continued from his childhood. His young years were during the Great Depression (the era of Author M.L. Gardner's 1929 series which are my latest favorite books), and I am sure chocolates were a fine treat indeed. His family was from Philadelphia, where the chocolates originated so no doubt this tradition came from his father, my grandfather. Stepping Into The Past

Image
Today, I was.  I got some pictures done and some new, old vintage stuff listed.  Whiting & Davis Gold Mesh Handbag I think I would have loved living in the Roaring 20's . I love the fashion, and probably would have cut a rug or two with The Charleston .  Things seem to have been much more elegant. Gold Mesh Compact or Cigarette Case As I sit here in my jeans and a sweatshirt. Ronson Crown Lighter 1930's era Ah well, at least I can show some beautiful things from back then.  I did get to enjoy the era in its fullest a while back with The Great Gatsby . (I loved it !) I actually like F. Scott Fitzgerald 's work , and his real life story is an intriguing snapshot of the times. I almost wish I could have lived then. Art Nouveau Pedestal available at The Regeneration Station or through Blue Rage of Asheville Well back to modern times.  Tomorrow I will be listing some new Jewelry by Bridget, Glass Pendant by Jewelry by Bridget ...

I have always loved the Roaring 20's era, the fashions in particular. The dresses, the headpieces, the dances, the parties. It seemed like a crazy fun time. The Buildings Were Higher, The Parties Were Bigger, The Morals Were Looser and the Liquor Was Cheaper. ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald The second thing to celebrate is my youngest son's birthday (today) and his interest in the same era. He has discovered music and films from this time period, and into the 1930's, and makes us all listen and watch movies from then. (Let me tell you the movies from the 1930's I find difficult to get through...if it wasn't for the colorful and amusing language I wouldn't make it through ANY of them) So to celebrate his birthday, and the great time I had at the movies with the whole family, here is ...
