A Zibbet Community thread was started at the beginning of October, called Easy Challenge For the Fantastic Five .  A call for a challenge always intrigues me, and apparently other too. I wandered over and saw that Judy, of Portable Graffiti Graphics and the author of The Fantastic Five , was asking us to come up with handmade gift card holders  to showcase for last minute shoppers in December. This thread has sparked the imagination of many Zibbeters, and had me thinking all month about an idea for a gift card holder.  Finally , Friday morning had me try out a pattern I found for a tiny Christmas Stocking. I needed to make SOME kind of Christmas things for the local gift shop, so I tried it out. After it was done, I realized it fit my business card perfectly so I popped it in there for the photo shoot. I knew I had a lot of work to do today. But I didn't realize just how much I had! I was supposed to get a package to South Carolina mailed today, for the Craft Bazaar on Nov. 5th   Moncks Corner, SC next Saturday, Nov. 5th. B ut after my coffee this morning, I knew I would never be able to make the Post Office deadline of noon.  A package of 22 Toekini's had to be carefully packaged, half of which still needed to be sealed. (I seal the ends of each Toekini with wax to delay the fraying of the yarn)  Not to mention I had to take pictures of the latest Toekini's  before they took their trip to SC. And it was quite cold outside, so outdoor pictures was not going to happen.  After deciding the deadline would not be met, I decided Monday mailing would have to be the plan. Sitting here waiting for dinner to finish (yes, it is 7:30pm and we still haven't eaten!) I am searching my brain for what to write about ! I checked the NaBloWriMo blog and none of the prompts spoke to me. So maybe I will just write about what's for dinner !  I had a great idea this morning to pan sear some seasoned boneless chicken breasts to brown them, then put them in the over to finish up. Add some super easy Uncle Ben's Ready Rice (done in 90 seconds!) and voila - and easy scrumptious dinner . But when I opened the freezer, the package of boneless chicken breasts I swore I bought were not there. What was? Pork Loin, pork chops, ground chicken, and fish. I really wanted the chicken. But the pork loin ended up the winner tonight. A nice roasted pork loin with potatoes, onions, and carrots . On the meat, I put salt, pepper, a wee bit of ground hot pepper, chicken rub, and sprinkled with Worcestershire sauce .  Basically, I seasoned it like I would hav...

Well, it was supposed to free of  Raige work . I was going to focus on home stuff, like laundry and dishes and picking up kids from sleepovers . And the morning was full of that. But then I checked the mail , and found a package from my favorite charm maker , Daresa, of Clay Art by Daresa . These yummy looking candy canes will soon be appearing on a set of Christmas Toekini's . Also in the works are a set of Snowman Toekini's .  And what Christmas is complete without Santa ? So look for Santa Toekini's too.  AND A first for  Raige  - Christmas Stockings . I am still working on the idea but the local gift shop   (their main web site here - all proceeds from sales in the gift shop in Weaverville go towards the personal care business) would like some Christmas things. I offered stockings, and they said SURE . Just gotta figure out how to get Toekini's on Christmas stockings.....what was I thinking? I wish I could say I have one of each Toekini...

We woke up to snow on Christmas morning, and it just kept snowing.  This is what our patio looks like. And this is the view outside our kitchen window. Perfect for Christmas, and maybe perfect for the kids winter break from school. Only one song fits this scenario....Elvis because we are so close to Graceland. But we are ready for the snow to melt now. Part of the reason we moved further south was to avoid so much snow!  Hopefully it will be all gone before the end of the week and we can enjoy the Mountains without fear of skidding down the hills.... 

Today there is enough snow on the ground to call it covered, tho only about 1/4 inch. The kids got their first snow day however, because of the bitter cold and black ice "they" said. They were so amused to see barely any snow on the ground and have no school because of the weather. They remember our time in Western New York, when it took 2 feet of snow in 2 hours to cancel school. This is nothing compared to those snow days! So all this (little bit of) snow makes it feel a bit more like Christmastime to us.  We went downstairs to get out some decorations, and as in years past, I found some of the ornaments the kids have made to give our tree special meaning. This one is one of my favorites, a snowman in the mind of a 1st grader. (He is 12 now!) There is something about the artwork of a child that is so special, and I love that it adorns our tree every year. Every handmade gift or decoration brings a special meaning to the season, and this week I will be show...
