Stepping Into The Past

Image
Today, I was.  I got some pictures done and some new, old vintage stuff listed.  Whiting & Davis Gold Mesh Handbag I think I would have loved living in the Roaring 20's . I love the fashion, and probably would have cut a rug or two with The Charleston .  Things seem to have been much more elegant. Gold Mesh Compact or Cigarette Case As I sit here in my jeans and a sweatshirt. Ronson Crown Lighter 1930's era Ah well, at least I can show some beautiful things from back then.  I did get to enjoy the era in its fullest a while back with The Great Gatsby . (I loved it !) I actually like F. Scott Fitzgerald 's work , and his real life story is an intriguing snapshot of the times. I almost wish I could have lived then. Art Nouveau Pedestal available at The Regeneration Station or through Blue Rage of Asheville Well back to modern times.  Tomorrow I will be listing some new Jewelry by Bridget, Glass Pendant by Jewelry by Bridget ...

Saturday Sale - A Mother's Day Sale as a Tribute to My Mother

Image
- God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers. -   Rudyard Kipling Mother's Day is fast approaching, so I have been busy creating things that I think my late mother would have loved.  My passion for a good read and memories of my mother's collection of books have inspired me to create beautifully decorative Page Savers (bookmarks). I also fondly remember my mother's compulsion to obtain any cute bag she came across.  She loved both books and bags of all kinds so much so that she couldn't stop collecting them.  And she was quite the collector! Her collection of both would rival any library or fashion designers inventories! She had rooms full of books, and closets  stuffed with  bags for any and all occasions.    This Mother's Day special is in honor of my late mother as I know that she would love to choose at least one of these bags to add to her collection,...

My Etsy store

Image
Raige Creations on Etsy.com came to life, fittingly, in January of 2010. New year, new decade, etc... It took a little push...mainly laid off from job, sold house, moved to temporary lodgings with the plan to move again. This gave me the overwhelming feeling that NOW was the time to start doing something I enjoyed and try to get paid for it! The other push that started the momentum was a very lovely gift from my mother-in-law of yarn and a crochet hook, some patterns, and a quick reminder lesson or two. After a few practice things (I made a small and large gift bag much like the yellow one here - which I now use to store my hooks and yarn) I was really motivated to create more things! And voila: Purses & cell phone holder I was HOOKED! Where to sell was the next question. I had read of Etsy.com through a magazine, all things handmade. It is a nice sight and makes it very easy for vendors to showcase, sell, and get support from other creators. And very affordable. Perfect for Raige...
