Ahhh my day off. Spent cleaning, as usual, and driving kid to friends house. The normal 'mom' duties I used to be able to do any day, but that are now restricted to days off. Sometimes I don't know how I will get through everything that needs to get done, and still keep my sanity. Some days I just get through. But today at least I got to enjoy a bit the duties of Mom. On the trip, I noticed many cars for a Monday, which actually makes sense due to the upcoming holiday. But what was unusual was the cars with one taillight and one headlight. There were MANY of those. And it never fails, when I see one headlight, this song pops in my head. It is actually not a happy song necessarily, but it is so poetic, and the feel of the song is quite perfect for a rain filled day. Last week was a rough week.  You may have noticed  I did not post the usual Music Monday!   or the Walking on Wednesday series.  Reasons for this include, but are not limited to:  broken bones , surgery ,  crashed computer ,  dryer vent full of water ,  and allergies . Trying to get back to normalcy ,  I bring you Two for Tuesday!!   It seemed fitting to feature Weird Al ,  as the past week has been nothing short of  weird, stressful ,  tiresome, and frustrating .  I was in need of a good laugh ,  and so was hubby and rest of family.  Weird Al   is always good for some stress relief through laughter . This was a tough one to pick today, being the first of 2011. We (my family and I) went through so many great songs, old and new. I wanted a song that would make our expectations for this new year limitless, and that would convey our feeling that this year is going to be a good year. One songwriter came to mind, one who writes songs that are poetic and meaningful, and says thing like this: It is 2011, 40 years after Bob Dylan performed this song at Madison Square Garden . But the song is still relevant today, with lyrics that anyone ponders from time to time.  It gives us permission to reflect, consider possibilites, and explore things we usually don't. So begin your new year well, consider the possibilites and opportunities, explore and reflect, and may the answers come to you as delicately as if they were blowing in the wind.
