Let's get CLEAN! With Body & Soul Products

As part of the celebration of pampering that began last week, with the beginning of the
Giveaway of a sample bag
(you have ONE MORE DAY TO ENTER!!)
we are looking at getting clean today.

After prepping for the walk yesterday, and the walk, we need to get clean. Becky's shop, Body & Soul Products, has wonderful products to achieve this.

I am skeptical of any soaps that aren’t Dial or Lever. I have tried goat milk soap, and honestly it is not my favorite.
So it was with trepidation that I tried the new Lavender Seas Soap from Body & Soul. I find it doesn’t lather as well as those store bought kinds, but once you get some suds, it is lovely.
Lavender Seas Mud Soap
After I was finished washing my face, I noticed there were no dry spots. Dry, flakey skin in the trouble areas are a common sight after using those store bought soaps. With the Lavender Seas Soap - my face was soft, with no dry spots, and dare I say had a bit of a glow to it. Anything that can clean without dry flakiness afterwards, and that leaves skin soft and beautiful is just what this ageing mother needs.

Sounds like this one would be a little rough, for the guys. That couldn't be farther from the truth.
Beer Shampoo Bar
This shampoo is gentle but effective. I was surprised at the lather and when I was finished washing my hair, it felt so clean. It seemed to get out all the gunk I put in it, and left it clean, yet not dry and frizzy. That is an accomplishment with my hair. I have been regularly torturing my hair for years now, and I can’t remember when my hair felt so clean.

Now that we are clean, we need to moisturize, right?

The description says:

Frosting you say? What's that? It's an awesomely smooth & silky feeling body butter that will melt into your skin leaving it feeling so luxurious!

Well, I can now say that is so true!
Coffee & Cream Whipped Body Frosting or  Butter
I have mentioned how dry my hands get. Especially in the winter. One year I had to resort to Bag Balm! (yes, for cows udders and horses and pets!). That worked, but was greasy and smelled, well, not so sweet.
When I received my goody bag, I was very curious about this ‘body frosting’. To be honest I was a little hesitant to be putting frosting on my body. Well, I opened it, it smelled so good. I sampled some on one hand, it was so soft and smooth going on, smelled great, not overpowering. But what really convinced me how good this stuff was came later. Hours later, I noticed that the one hand I put it on was so soft, the other hand was so NOT. The hand that I did not put it on was so rough compared to the smooth softness of the other, I was upset that I hadn't put it on both. So now, I put it on both my hands, my arms, chest, legs, etc. Soft smooth skin all over.

Cucumber Green Tea Mask
Knowing that all these products are all natural and fresh makes me feel even cleaner. Tonight, I am looking forward to the Cucumber and Green Tea Facial Mask, after the hectic dinnertime. Cucumber is known for its anti-inflammatory and skin tightening properties, and rich in vitamins, minerals and enzymes essential for strong cell growth and repair. Green Tea is said to help repair the effects of aging and environmental factors, and honey is said to have anti-aging properties. All these ingredients in a relaxing facial mask is sure to be a great way to end the day.

I just may switch over my soaps and shampoos and lotions to these products instead of the store bought, chock full of unnatural ingredients, products. Body & Souls Products are gentle, effective and all natural.

Remember, you can still enter the giveaway to get yourself a sample of these fine products.

Walking on Wednesdays - prepping with Body & Soul products

I need to get in shape. I am terrible at being a consistent exerciser. So you, my values readers, are now my walking partners.
Each week, Wednesdays will be
Walking on Wednesdays.

I will share with you photos of my walks, things I saw on my walks, things I thought about on my walks, and maybe even some 'walk-throughs' of interesting places, shops, or ideas.

You all will be my motivation,
my push, to get out there and walk,
enjoy nature, and get fit,
even if some days only mentally fit.
Are you with me?

Today we will cover some necessary things to prepare for, and recover from, walks. I was lucky enough to receive some sample sized items from Body & Soul Products, so will be featuring some of these products to help us get ready.

First, Your feet.
This Citrus Kiss Solid Moisturizer is something I had never used before. I had never used any solid moisturizer before. I usually just pick up whatever is at the store, cheapest.
Citrus Kiss Solid Moisturizer
The lable says ‘Great for hands, elbows, knees, feet, or anywhere….you need pampering.’

It comes in a little deoderant style dispenser. So I popped the lid off, took a whiff, and oh boy this smells nice. So I went a little nuts. I smoothed it on my feet first.

Blue Flip Flop Toekini's
and my feet after application
It went on so nice, not greasy at all! So smooth, and almost instantly the dry spots disappeared. My skin just soaked it up!

So then I decided, onto knees, elbows, and hands, oh yes! (My hand are dry all the time.) It is so great or hands because it is not greasy! I rubbed it on them and dare I say they began to glow

The smell is just right, kissed with citrus. It is not overpowering in the least. It is just enough to make it very pleasant. (It does not fight with my perfume either, which is perfect, because I love my perfume, and hate when it conflicts with the heavy scents of some of those store bought lotions.)  I think this will become my after shower ritual. Shower, dry, get kissed by citrus.

Next, your FACE.
Refresh your face with Strawberry Facial Toner
Strawberry Facial Toner
Light and fresh, it sooths and calms the skin. This toner is not like the store bought toners! It smells great, it does not burn, and leaves your face felling fresh, soft, and clean.  I cannot tell you how nice it is to find a toner that does not burn!

Perfect motivation to get out there and walk!

Let's not forget the LIPS.
Body & Soul Products lip balms, or Pout Pots, are, as my daughter exclaimed when she tried it, "this is SO nice, look at my lips - I LOVE IT SO MUCH"
Pout Pots, or lib balms
We got the Caramel flavored lip balm and all I can say is: Wow - soft and smooth! It also leaves your lips shimmery and soft. Not bold color, but just enough of a shine. My daughter tried it before school one day. She put some on, said, "oooo, can I take it to school"She said everyone around asked if she smelled caramel and she told them it was her lips.
I haven’t seen it since.  Oh, and she said also, in no uncertain terms, "You HAVE to buy me more of that!" I don't know of a better recommendation than that.

And for AFTER the walk.
Kissable Massage Oils
Some massage oil. Ok, let's have some fun with it and use Kissable Massage Oil, so all the sore parts can be taken care of.  The label says this is "good for one application for a back massage or several small body parts :0) ". Perfect.
I received the Cherry Cheesecake flavor, and let me tell you this smells like the perfect cherry cheesecake! It is not an overpowering smell, it is actually relaxing. The oil is soft and smooth, definitely massage worthy. It will be wonderful after a nice long walk. I may just have to get some 'Morning Coffee' flavor though, as my husband is a big coffee drinker. *devilish smile here*.

Tomorrow, I will finish reviewing all the goodies I got in my sample bag, and recover from the walk I took today. Maybe I will go for another! Now that Walking on Wednesday is launched, I have the needed motivation to keep walking, and you, my readers, are the needed push to get me out there!
Thank you!

Music Monday! Splish Splash I Was Taking A Bath

In honor of Body & Soul Product GIVEAWAY we are featuring a favorite bath time song, "Splish Splash", by Bobby Darin.  To go along with it, here are some of the new soaps available at Body & Soul Products ~ by RWestDesigns.
Lavender Mint Soap

Splish splash, I was taking a bath
Long about a Saturday night
A rub dub, just relaxing in the tub
Thinking everything was alright

Champagne Mimosa Soap

Well, I stepped out the tub, put my feet on the floor
I wrapped the towel around me
And I opened the door, and then
Splish, splash! I jumped back in the bath
Well how was I to know there was a party going on

Beer Shampoo Bar

Bing bang, I saw the whole gang
Dancing on my living room rug, yeah
Flip flop, they was doing the bop
All the teens had the dancing bug

Creamy Goat's Milk Soap

There was Lollipop with-a Peggy Sue
Good golly, Miss Molly was-a even there, too
A-well-a, splish splash, I forgot about the bath
I went and put my dancing shoes on, yeah

And instead of what I suggested a few weeks ago, that you
walk naked in your living room, go ahead and DANCE naked in your living room, after splishin and a splashin with one these luxurious soaps. After all, you deserve a little fun too.

Who Turned One? The Scrapoholic

While I was searching for other online sellers who had reached the milestone of their first anniversary for my article on IndieSmiles.com, Celebrating One Year, I was lucky enough to meet Jill of The Scrapoholic
Disney Tinkerbell Scrapbook Album
Jill is a such busy person, on several sites, and promoting herself as well as others on her blog, not to mention her own struggles with health issues. AND she recently opened a shop on Zibbet too. Way to go Jill!

It was a pleasure to chat with her, even if only on Facebook. Through our chats, I learned how determined Jill is, and that she is living proof that you can accomplish great things if you only put your mind to it. If you like scrapbooks and 'scrapbooking' at all, you need to get to know Jill and her great ideas and designs. Here is her full interview and part of our chats.

What would you say is the most important thing you have done to get you to your first anniversary as an online seller?
Using different sites to sell my items such as ebay, etsy, on my blog and facebook, it reaches different people I may not necessarily reach just listing in one place.

How did you celebrate this milestone?
I had a contest with letting people choose either a card or layout sketch from my facebook photo album, and then asked people to vote on their favorite to win a prize.

Things I Love Kit
What has been your most successful marketing tool?
Social networking, facebook, blogger, even twitter, blog hops are great way to gain new followers and find new inspiration too. On Facebook, I've made so many "friends" and business associates that gives me the support you need when you have those "slow" months that every business goes thru.

What was your most successful sale of the year, if you had sales events?
Disney Title Pre-Made
I consider every sale no matter how small or big a success. My most fun was a custom disney album, which was so fun to do. I love scrappin' for other people more than for myself.

What, if anything, are you going to do differently in the second year of your business?
Hope for Japan Stamp
I have HUGE plans and aspirations for this next year to really open up. It possibly may be too much but I am planning to go at it slowly so its not too much for me or my "followers". One of the things I want to do is to be more scheduled than spontaneous, which is difficult for me since I am such a spontaneous person. I want to try to meet needs of card makers and scrappers that aren't being met. I plan to do more tutorials and classes online. I am currently working with a few people to start my own line of digital stamps and also working on my own line of Make The Cut collections.
Sampling of Vinyl wall pops
The biggest project I'm working on is a book I'm hoping to get published by the end of this year which will be a tool for card makers and scrapbookers and lead to a series of books. I am hoping to get my own dot com website to leash all my places into one easily accessible site.

My biggest hindrance, not just in my crafting world but in life in general is that I have permanent ulnar nerve damage in my right elbow which effects my entire right arm. I've had 2 surgeries in the past 2 years with no success of fixing it. I was ambidextrous but right handed dominant. It is hard because it is like hitting your funny bone 24/7/365 and some days are good and some are bad. but with the meds they help me have more good days, but do make me forgetful.
Tri Shutter Caed from Jill's collection of artwork

I run out of energy easily and there are many things i can no longer do because of the injury. Also, being in a lawsuit with the Doctor who caused the injury (which is a whole entity in itself) and with the government for disability benefits takes up alot of time, also is emotionally and spiritually exhausting.

But I am a survivor and my crafting takes me to another world and it makes me happy and I love sharing what I learn, what I create and love making thing for others.

Mousabilia Disney Memory Box
I am most inspired by our troops. Coming from a family who served our country one way or another I give back by making Cards for Soldiers. The troops inspire me by what they do and willingness to sacrifice so much, If they can do this why not me to just not in the same way.

I can do what I love no matter my limitations. Other people who have overcome their disabilities to continue on and inspire others is what I desire to be able to be like them.

If I didn't have my support from my loving family and awesome friends and colleagues, I wouldn't be able to be the survivor I am and continue to create and share my crafting world.

Jill is an inspiration. Her creativity and determination brings us all some pretty amazing things to look at and enjoy! Please visit Jill at any one of the many places she can be found.

Featured Zibbeter - RaigeCreations

I was so honored to be asked a few questions and then be the Featured Zibbeter this week on Zibbet.com.
I opened a shop on Zibbet last year, March 31st to be exact - another anniversary!
Also, about one year ago was the date of the last picture of myself.
So it was time for a new picture of me.
(Last good one anyway, and really it is hard to get a good picture of me. So hubby graciously agreed to take a few, and we managed to get one we could use, out of about 11 taken for the purpose of having a picture for the feature....)

I thought it was perfect timing for all the wonderful people in Zibbet's community, and all of you too, of course,
to get to know a little bit more about
and the ever growing world of Zibbet.
Some of the many benefits of Zibbet include:

  • NO selling fees
  • NO listing fees
  • Listings are found in Google Product Search and TheFind.com
  • Shop Performance Stats
  • Links to any other sites you wish
  • Etsy AND Artfire Importers
  • Shareability
  • Access to the Community Hub, where you can interact with all the helpful, supportive members and staff of Zibbet
And this is what is offered for FREE.
COMPLETELY FREE

Upgrade to Premium and you can fully customize your shop with unlimited listings, ability to rearrange your shop, gift guide exposure, sales mode, coupons and gift certificates, and so many other great features.

If you haven't considered Zibbet, now may be the time to do it. They are offering a very good Yearly Premium deal that boils down to less than $6 a month.

Zibbet is growing everyday - more sellers, more exposure, and great results.  It is worth checking out.

I have met so many wonderful people through Zibbet.  I am so proud to be a part of it, and honored that I was chosen to be the Featured Zibbeter this week.

Thanks to all of you too for helping Raige get so far. :)

Music Monday! Rock The Casbah

The Clash rocked out years ago with Rock the Casbah.
It never has lost it's relevancy and often comes up in times of conflict in the Middle East or Northern Africa.

Wikipedia states:
The song gives a fabulist account of a ban on rock music by the Sharif or King being defied by the population, who proceed to "rock the casbah". The King orders jet fighters to bomb any people in violation of the ban. The pilots ignore the orders, and instead play rock music on their cockpit radios.

Rock on!

Music Monday! You Learn

With so much talk of birthdays lately,
with Facebook notices of your friends birthdays,
and someone's impending 40th birthday
(no names...but her Raige knows her very well),
there has been much contemplation
of what we have lived,
and what we have learned.

This song seemed the only fitting one.
Alanis Morisette's peotic truths tell us to go ahead,
LIVE.
Because that is the only way to
LEARN.

So go ahead,
walk around naked in your living room...
bite off more than you can chew...
you only LIVE once
so LEARN all you can.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
